In the 1970s and 1980s, the area of grape plantations in Azerbaijan was constantly expanded, a large number of wine processing and production plants were built and put into operation, which led to the improvement of the material well-being of the people. But in the 90s, as in a number of fields, viticulture faced the threat of complete destruction. Almost 70-80% of existing gardens were canceled due to certain reasons. Those lands were even left out of cultivation for a while. In the 1970s and 1980s, there were 4,000 hectares of vineyards in Gazakh, as well as 6 wine processing enterprises. Currently, there are more than 300 hectares of vineyards in Kazakhstan. Most of these gardens were built in the last 6-7 years. Besides being one of the ancient homelands of viticulture, Gazakh is one of the areas where industrial viticulture was first developed in Azerbaijan. The German colonizers who settled in Kazakhstan at one time developed the winemaking industry. The population living in this region purposefully engaged in viticulture and gave nature dozens of valuable local grape varieties that occupy an important place in Azerbaijan. In the past, high-quality dessert wines were produced from technical grapes grown in the plains of the region.
